To be seen is to be sustained, even when the subject remains absent.

This is a portrait of Noah, the first character born from the Luna&Lane series.

Noah carries the original spirit of Luna&Lane — a spirit that believes strength and fear can exist in the same person. Being brave does not mean never feeling afraid, and being quiet does not mean being weak. Sometimes, staying silent in a noisy world is simply another way of being.

We don't believe there are so many rules that tell us what we should be. Maybe we can accept the parts of ourselves that are afraid, and still find the courage to face the world.

In this painting, Noah is painting his own portrait. Behind him sits his companion, the little bear, quietly painting him in return.

Noah is a boy who is afraid of water. From the very beginning, we wanted him to be a reminder that we don't have to hide the things that make us vulnerable. We can be afraid, we can be imperfect, and we can still choose to move forward.

Perhaps this is what we wanted Luna&Lane to be from the start — a companion like the little bear in this painting. Someone who doesn't need to say much, but simply stays beside you, quietly, while you face the world in your own way.

Noah is the first character born from the Luna&Lane series, carrying the most original spirit of the world we wanted to create.

He believes that strength and vulnerability do not have to be opposites. You can be afraid and still be brave. You can be quiet in a noisy world without needing to become someone else.

From the very beginning, Noah was created as a reminder that we don't have to hide our fears or imperfections. We can embrace them, and still choose to face the world.

And perhaps that is what Luna&Lane hopes to be — like the little bear in this painting, simply staying beside you, quietly.

Maybe courage isn't about being fearless. Maybe it's simply accepting who we are, and moving forward anyway.

To be seen is to be sustained, even when the subject remains absent.

This oil painting unfolds within a dark green interior. Within the scene, Noah is shown painting an imagined version of himself, while Grant sits nearby, quietly painting Noah. The composition establishes a layered structure of observation and representation, positioning each figure simultaneously as subject and mediator.

As the scene suggests a recursive logic of depiction, the work resists a closed system of self-reference. Noah functions as a placeholder—simultaneously universal and anonymous—while Grant occupies the role of witness and companion.

The painting reflects on companionship as a condition that sustains creative and emotional continuity. In this sense, Noah is less about representation than about the relational structures that allow affection, attention, and the desire to continue to exist and care.
